The Biewer Terrier Registry of America is a dedicated registry open to all purebred Biewer Terriers whether they are for show, breeding or a family companion, regardless of club affiliation. With our acceptance into ARBA, we are moving closer to AKC and UKC recognition and it is vitally important to have an accurate Biewer Terrier stud book/registry in America. The Biewer Terrier is not a Yorkshire Terrier so it is imperative that our paper work reflect our pedigree information accurately for the purebred Biewer Terrier.

The Biewer Terrier Registry of America was created for Biewer Terrier breeders in America, in order to have a convenient, reliable, accurate data base for easy transition into the premier dog clubs of America.

In order to have and maintain a respectable registry, free of political complications we have opted to use an established independent firm to hold and maintain all records and pedigrees. To insure the safety of our database it will be maintained using a state of the art registry/pedigree software program with multiple licenses to allow for separate, geographically distant individuals to maintain duplicate registry records. This is the first and only purebred Biewer Terrier registry to allow open access to complete studbook and pedigree information to our associate breeders.

Our goal is to create an alliance of Biewer Terrier breeders to address and resolve the very real concern of gene pool diversity within our rare breed while maintaining the quality in health, temperament, and confirmation.

The mission of the Biewer Terrier Registry of America is to verify and register purebred Biewer Terrier dogs and puppies. Our goal is provide a service to aide in the betterment of all dedicated Biewer Terrier breeders with focus on being the authority for purebred Biewer Terrier.

The Biewer Terrier Registry of America will embrace integrity, openness, honesty, and consideration in all its dealings with Biewer Terrier breeders and enthusiasts. BTRA strongly encourages all breeders to adopt ethical breeding and business practices; however, BTRA cannot and does not inspect, monitor, or regulate the breeding or business practices of breeders affiliated with BTRA.

The BTRA recommends that all interested parties adequately research the Biewer Terrier breed to make sure it is the right dog for them. It is the obligation of the breeder to supply the interested party of any and all possible health issues and supply all medical records upon request. The purchaser must be honest and up front with his/her intentions for the dog/puppy of interest. The BTRA strongly encourages breeders and buyers to carefully document, in writing, all representations, promises, statements, warranties, and guarantees relating to the purchase of a Biewer Terrier.  Both the breeder and buyer should be aware of and comply with state and local laws governing the sale of dogs.

When visiting various Biewer Terrier websites, be sure to look for the BTRA seal shown below.
